Is there an option somewhere to View New Posts ?
It's generally how I use all forums but I can't find how to do it on SMF.
"Unread", under your user name at the top right of the page.
One thing you'll find different is the volume of non-English posting. I'm still trying to figure out if there is a way to make "Unread" work for selected sub-forums only.

+1 to that. I would like to be able to select the subforums from which to see the unread posts when I click "unread".
Or just maybe a tickbox to show or not posts from the international section in the "unread" list.

That would be very useful, there's a lot of "topics" or whatever they are now called that I never frequent so to get 100 new posts from them would probably make the feature unusable.
Most (all) forums don't allow selecting like this though and they work OK just scan the list and pick the things you like. It depends on the amount of traffic I supose.
