lily pad and lipo

I got a Lilypad, but the one I ordered does not have the JST connector for my lipo battery. I haven't use a lilypad before, so forgive me if this is a naive question, but can I just solder a JST connector onto the board's + and - holes? Or does it need something in between to keep it from frying the board? The battery is a 3.7v 1200 mAh.

Yes, you can solder wires directly to the JST connector. All those connectors do is form a connection from the cable to the PCB. The only drawback to directly soldering them is that you can't remove them. But if you don't need to remove the battery, then should be no problem. Only thing is make sure you solder to the correct terminals. You could end up damaging your components if you get the connections backwards.
