Since I never used arduino relay board make sure it have transistor built in and diodes to protect against spikes, if in doubt or dont understand dont hesitate to contact me
Thanks for such a great question. For my automation class we are using the same type of solenoid to actuate a drink mixer. I got it to work. Thanks for the help.
Im working on a solenoid project where I need to have the 12v solenoid valve controlling water flow of my showerhead. I would like to control the solenoid with a simple button.
I have been researching on how to operate a solenoid and found a couple of ideas:
I do have or could make a 9V-battery-powered source (but I think id rather use a 120V AC source and somehow convert it to DC. For now Ill stick to the 9V x 2 battery pack idea. What would I need to power it from the wall socket?
12V solenoid valve
1k resistor, breadboard, jumpers
TIP120 transistor - I need to get one - i only have a IRLB8721
Open it with Paint and click "Resize" button on the upper left and type in "60" where you see the "100", click SAVE icon in paint and then upload it. That should make it < 1 Mbyte.
