Arduino Radio and radar detector

Would it at all be possible to use any arduino board to scan for x, k, ka as well as signals on the 850.xxx mhz channel? If so would it also be possible to output some information like signal strength to a LCD shield?

Thanks for the help!

The Arduino could probably read the output of a suitable radio/radar detector, and display information on an LCD screen.

I need to pick up only certain 850.xxx mhz channels on the radio side. Does any one know what modules I would need for that, and also what I would use to pick up the x, k, and ka bands at a pretty good distance?

As said in #1, you need a radio receiver/detector/whatever. Arduinos can't do this by themselves.

You'll have to ask about specific devices in a radio specialists forum or visit your local radio/radar equipment store. When you have selected one that has some form of digital output we will be able to help getting it connected to an Arduino.

This side of Arduino is new to me, so any help/guidance is greatly appreciated!

What is the project ?

Why do you want a receiver that will pick up microwave\radar signals as well as those in the 850Mhz mobile bands ?

Who or what are you trying to detect ?

I'd bet the OP is not looking for a radio detector, but more specifically a radar detector.

Pete

Emergency vehicles are equiped with repeaters on the 850.xxx band. The radar detector assumtion is partially correct it's part of the project!

This has vanishingly little to do with Arduino. You need to ask on a scanner forum somewhere because I suspect that's what you need.

So you want (free!) advice on your project, but you dont want to provide the details of the project or what or who you are trying to detect ?

I suspect that also.
