is it my anti virus failing miserably or has the arduino.cc site been infected with a virus?
when ever I try to go to software and many other links off the home page, my anti virus is blocking it claiming it is infected with "HTML:HideSeoSpam-A"
is anyone else having this problem?

However, I have not heard any reports of this issue affecting the Arduino Project Hub. I just checked and I don't see the hacked links on the Project Hub Pages.
Did your antivirus block an Arduino Project Hub page? If so, which one?
The reason I ask is because you posted to the section of the forum dedicated specifically to the Arduino Project Hub.
