Hi,
in combination with an arduino Mega 2560 (Rev 3) I have a GSM-board with an integrated antenna that sends status information via SMS. The application-software is working perfectly well. As the hardware is mounted in a cellar made of concrete, the SMS transmission is not reliable enough.
In order to overcome that problem I plan to mount the gsm-board at a remote place where the field strength is much higher. Due to the large amount of I/O´s used the move of the mega-board is not attractive.
Are there more/other connections required than
a.) Pin 10 of Mega with pin 2 of GSM-board (representing RX)
b.) Pin 3 of Mega with pin3 of GSM-board (representing TX)
c.) Pin 7 of Mega with CTL of GSM-board (representing Modem Reset)
d.) 5V DC pins
e.) Gnd Pins?
Signal a.) ..c.) in a separate shielded signal cable
Would this approach work? Your comments are very much appreciated!
