Material thickness for lasercut enclosure?

Hello,

I want to build an enclosure for a MIDI faderbox.

I plan to have clear acrylic cut by laser. Do you think 3mm would be resistant enough for a 300x120x50mm box (the top plate would have a dozen of 100mm slots to let faders knobs go through) ? Would plywood with same thickness be more resistant?

Acrylic is acrylic, but there are dozens or more types of plywood.
