GHIDRA A software reverse engineering (SRE) suite of tools developed by NSA's Re

A very interesting free tool.

But! what does it do?

Paul

It allows interactive reverse engineering and decompilation of binaries, elf, hex, firmwares
for a broad spectrum of processors, from 6502/Z80/68000 via MIPS, ARM to X86.

It is able to generate C code from the binary and does a very good job analyzing the binary.

Thank you. Very interesting. Much better than doing it by hand!

Paul.

It's a very powerful tool, so many options and possibilities, very promising but overwhelming like Blender.

I'm shure there will be many reviews and probably tutorials soon.
It was released just a couple of days ago.

Is this a clever ploy to get people to give their code to the NSA?

Big Brother extends his grip every day

I don't trust the NSA,
but I'm quite shure that the program will be checked by many people that are really capable.

Why the NSA decided to release a (probably stripped) version to the public is questionable.

Maybe there is a job advertisement embedded in the software

SP "sure"

A nice introduction here: GHIDRA | Reverse Engineering a PWN Challenge.

Let's see them reverse-engineer code not yet written into existence. That would be impressive.

Heh. I’ve been on the good side of “you know that feature you were advertising for your future product? We thought that it was a pretty good idea, and we shipped it first!”
