Radioshack 2N222A Transistor

I bought the NPN-Type transistor pack from radio shack recently. It said it came with 2N2222 transistors on the front, but it did not. The transistors are 2N222A according to the writing on them and the back side of the packaging. I need the EXACT data sheet for these transistors but I can't even find a transistor that is still manufactured named 2N222A. I know it is similar to the 2N2222A and 2N2222 but for I am using it for a science fair project, the exact data sheet is mandatory. Here is the link

Can you post a picture of this writing. Note on the picture I post here the first 2 is on the first line and the three other twos are on the second.

The 2N222A if it did exist would have likely been a PNP germanium device!

Even the 2N2222 is > 50 years old...

The transistors in such a pack seem to be kind of junk transistors. Whatever random floor sweeping surplus parts.

So for something like a science fair project, I'd buy a bunch of 2N2222 or 2N3904.

2N3904, 12 cents each:

2N3904, 5 for 75 cents, or 100 for $13.00:

Even better, 2N3904 are 100 for $5.90:

However, in all likelyhood, those are actually 2N2222 transistors. But I'd not expect them to match the spec sheets very closely.

Thanks, that answered my question.

And data sheet for MPS2222A is easy to obain

Different manufacturers start the part # in different ways.

Uhmm, check the link again. It says:

Included in the box: 5 of 2n2222, 5 of 2N4401, and 5 of 2N3904

Thanks, that answered my question.

Pity we will never know which post answered your question.
