I dunno Robin, Previously they said "Don't do it." Now they say that the user is responsible to prove it wasn't their fault. Seems to me it depends on how much the user can spend on lawyers. If, say GM, uses an 'off-the-shelf' Microchip product in a car, I would imagine GM's legal budget would guarantee a win any legal challenge to the current requirement. A major manufacturer would surely write their own terms and conditions though.
