Hello,
Yesterday, I got three UNO clones with touchscreen modules. While playing with the first one something happened and I couldn't uploaded sketches anymore. So I just grabbed a second one. When I was modifying a simple sketch, I accidentally made the sketch too large. When I went to upload it, it obviously failed. So I removed one of the embedded images, then tried to upload again. However now it will no longer take sketches. It still is seen by the program, and has a port. But I get the following message.
Sketch uses 18806 bytes (58%) of program storage space. Maximum is 32256 bytes.
Global variables use 299 bytes (14%) of dynamic memory, leaving 1749 bytes for local variables. Maximum is 2048 bytes.

Problem uploading to board. See http://www.arduino.cc/en/Guide/Troubleshooting#upload for suggestions.
Then I took the third UNO, and decided to rewrite the bootloader. I don't think anything I did should damage the bootloader, but it seemed like a good attempt at repair. However it fails when I try to upload the bootloader.

It seems that this can't be a hardware issue, but I'm not sure where to go from here.
When I plug the UNO into my pc, it is assigned a port number.
It fails when I upload a sketch.
It fails when I try to reinstall the bootloader.
I checked the wiring multiple times.
I have 2 UNO that both behave identically.
When I plug in one of the 2 non-working UNO, the on light is steady, and the L light flashes.
The flash seem to be 3 flashes, then a very small pause before 5 more flashes. Although the pause could be me imagining things.
The last of the three new UNO's works fine, on the same PC.
When the UNOs stopped working they were connected to the PC, I wasn't moving or touching the arduino. I was working with a sketch to display a picture. After they failed I removed the 320x240 touchscreen, and continued the trouble shooting.
I attached the command prompt log to the message
