Yes having chickenpox in your youth is what can lead to Shingles in the golden years. 
Several friends have had Shingles, not something to mess with, horrible results, can last over a year.
We also got Pneu-P-23 (pneumococcal) & DTAP vaccines (diphtheria, tetanus, and whooping cough/pertussis) free.
We never have to get these again
