I am trying to build a robot from scratch using arduino. Basically, I want the robot to be able to move in all directions, and be controlled by a user. What type of arduino should I purchase to achieve this? What type of servos and motors would be best for this type of project. I have done some research regarding what materials I should use, but I am a beginner and just want to make sure I purchase the right materials. Thank you.

As is so frequently the case, the answer is "Give us more information"
We don't know if you are making a wheeled robot, a walking robot or a flying robot.
We don't know if it is to be a small device to move around in your living room or a large device that should be able to move across rough outdoor terrain.
Is the only immediate need to have it move as commanded like an RC toy car? Or will it need sensors, arms with grippers or other hardware?
