Hi and welcome to the forum. Since you're new here I'll give you some quick pointers.

Firstly, when asking a question, try to include your question in the title of the topic.

Secondly, Don't cross post. There arfe moderators (and even some members) around here that get especially peeved by that.

BTW. I'm pretty sure you can use a w5100 Ethernet shield on the mega2560 with no issues.

I think you are being spooked by the size of the shield vis-a-viz that of the Mega. It fits fine on both, and made for both - just plug'n'play - and I have never seen an Ethernet shield specifically for Mega.

The Arduino shield system tends to stumble a bit when it comes to the Mega, but I guess there are always ways around that.
