I am using Windows 7, and my board is an arduino uno. Whenever I connect my board via USB, it will only come up as an unrecognized device. I have previously connected the same board to a mac, and it worked just fine when I did that. What can I do in order to get my computer to recognize the board so that I can upload sketches?
you need to manually install the driver. (probabily you are on win7 64bit)
see: http://arduino.cc/en/Guide/Windows#toc4
Hi I have the same issue, Win 7 system 32 bit and when I connect the UNO R3 board it comes up as unrecognised device. When I tr to man install driver I cannot see it in the drop down box althought it is there when I look in folder.
you don't have to select the DRIVER, you have to select the DRIVER'S FOLDER
