There are several solutions possible but:

  • Can your AppleScript monitor the hardware lines of a serial port ? e.g. relay switches RTS from low-> HIGH
  • Can your AppleScript monitor the serial port ? e.g. commands "B" and "O" from the Arduino. B = Bell O = Off
