When writing to SD card - should the date/time-stamp be handled automatically ?

There doesn't seem to be any topics on how to write the timestamp to the file.

All my files end up being modified on Saturday, 1 January 2000, 1:00:00 AM

Is this normal or could there be a formatting issue at hand ?
