USB device is not recognized

when i connect uno to laptop it says most times " usb device is not recognized" and little times it defined !
I can't understand what's the problem .. ( windows 10) :o :confused:

Try to install the drivers as shown here

Don't use USB 3 if you can avoid it as there are known issues.
Stick to USB 2.0.

Thanks for your Answer , But in fact sometimes my Uno works well and some other times it says usb is not reckon ! Is it windows 10 issue ?

That the issue is random in your case it would suggest one of three things.

  1. Bad USB cable
  2. Faulty USB port (computer or board)
  3. Faulty board

Swap cables or try another computer or get another board if inspecting yours does not find any issues.

Thanks brother for your reply
i have upgraded my IDE to the latest and it's good for now .. but how can i solve the problem if it's from the board ... what's your suggestion

If its a board check for bad soldering or loose connection and fix if you can.
Re-loading a bootloader is not likely to fix it so I don't think I would bother going that route.

Very hard to say exactly.

Thanks Brother .... actually after trying many methods i found out the cable was the problem :slight_smile:

This could work if the Arduino is not recognized as USB device at all. But what about if it recognized as a no functioning USB device? I couldn't find any way to go ahead.

@Momboz

You should know by now to give more information !

However in your case it could well be a driver issue especially if it is a clone board.

Hello, I continue to get this error. USB device not recognized
I have explored many sites, on Microsoft, Hows.tech, Wikihow and many others. Not helpful

My USB device was not detected.

Do I need to install any form of hotfix mentioned in this Guide Method 2

@pradeep_gupta007
