So I bought a new dishwasher because the old one stopped working. Probably the electronics. What could be of any worth to dismount from the machine before I take it to the recycle center?
Depends on the model, but it's most likely not worth the trouble.
It all depends what has made it fail to start with.
I guess you could write your own controller using an Arduino if that is the problem.
But if it is motors, pumps or hoses that have failed then Arduinos aren't going to help much.
As far as useful parts.
Well everything has a use to someone.
The water solenoids could be handy if you need to turn a water flow on and off.
Pumps are handy if you wanted to make a nice water feature,
The display maybe useful if you need something like that too.
Not a lot else in a dishwasher, perhaps a temperature and water level sensor.
The water level sensors are probably air pressure sensors. An air tight capsule with a rubber membrane. And an air tube. When I blow soft pressure in the tube, a relay like reed ticks. Two adjusting screws sealed with a pink lacquer. There are two of these. They might be handy for a pump organ I'm working on.

Yes your right on the pressure switch.
Normally just a small diaphragm with a micro switch or two.
Shocking isn't it,
now that you perhaps have a dishwasher in bits and see what is actually inside,
do you question why they cost so much to purchase.??
At least with a washing machine you get things that turn and spin.
