Hello, I am fairly new to the Arduino community and coding but i am fairly experienced with electrical and wiring. i was wondering if anyone can give me a starting point or any help at all on a project i would really like to make.
I want to try to make an underglow system for my car using WS2182b Leds and an ESP8266/32 i have been very interested in a project by "Jamin" On the Blynk Form ( "SmartLED Controller" - ESP+FastLED+Blynk (Video) - Projects made with Blynk - Blynk Community ) with his project, i want to make something i can control and go through different preset animations or colors with a Bluetooth connection to my phone but i have absolutely no idea where to start.
I was attempting to recreate Jamins project but i later found out the esp needs to be connected to a stationary wifi and cannot create its own for a mobile purpose (aka in a car) but please any advice or help i can get would be very appreciated

The ESP can operate in “station” mode where it joins an existing wlan, or it can operate in “access_point” mode where it creates a wlan which clients may join.

Hi Cameron. What do you need the WiFi for, if the esp will connect to your phone with Bluetooth?
Warning: esp8266 does not have Bluetooth, only WiFi. Esp32 has both.
The software Blynk uses the wifi connection, i want to be able to use my phone remotely to control the leds and go through different preset animations. i do not know how to reconfigure his software
I could be wrong about this, but I thought Blynk only works if the Blynk node (the led controller in your case) can connect to Blynk's central servers over the internet. Then your phone, also connecting to the Blynk servers, can control the node. Will your car always have internet access? If not, perhaps Blynk is not the right solution for you.

exactly, i am trying to find some way to make a controller for the leds under the car. blynk seemed to be the best option but now i have absolutely no idea how or were to start
It is actually relatively simple. The ESP8266 is programmed as a WiFi access point serving a Web page containing the buttons to implement the various functions. The phone simply accesses that page using WiFi.
There should be no shortage of code for this as ESP-01(s) relay modules are a popular item - I presently need to find such code to work from for a current project.

Well thank you. i am extremely new to the arduino scene but i am fairly experienced in electrical. do you know of any tutorials on how to do this?
When I concentrate on it, assemble the definitive version of my ESP-01 controlled "Times Square Display" and research the software more fully, I should be able to advise on it.
