Title: Ardunio shield template for Eagle CAD
Post by: RyanParle on Jul 18, 2012, 08:20 pm
sorry if this has been asked before, but i keep getting errors when using the search facility on this site.

Can anyone tell me if there is a template for eagle cad that has the basic pin layouts for an arduino shield and no other tracks?

i've been pulling my hair out all day working with an overpopulated protosheild & really would like to make a more logical layout.

Sparkfun Eagle library has 4 versions of an Uno shield and is a great place to start.

The Adafruit library may have them also.

In eagle it easy to depopulate an existing design as a starting point as well.
Select & delete the unneeded parts in the schematic.
Select & Ripup the unneeded traces on the board.

Wow, thanks for all the quick replies everyone, that gives me a good base to start off with. I just learned that the guy who did the prototype has nearly finished design of a custom board that does away with the  arduino main board & proto shield so it looks like I I won't have to do so much design for myself now.
