ipod forth generation with BLE 4.0??

hello everyone,
I am interested on doing a project using my ipod touch. in the project I have to use bluetooth functionality.
I was really interested in using "Bluetooth 4.0 Low Energy - BLE Mini" : http://redbearlab.com/blemini/
However it only works with iphone 4s, ipod touch 5th and etc and I do only have ipod touch 4th generation which has bluetooth 2.1. I was just wondering if there anything like BLE that I can use it with my ipod touch 4 generation? or is there any kind of adapter/converter that can convert bluetooth 2.1 to 4 so I can use BLE mini with my ipod.
thanks

I find it very difficult to believe anyone would make such an "adapter." You're going to have look at a new iPod or look into jailbreaking it, so you can install SPP drivers to talk to SPP (serial port profile) Bluetooth devices.

Thanks james. but I am not sure that I follow you. So Does iPod Touch 4th generation support Bluetooth 4.0, hardware wise? if I jailbreak it, is it possible to connect it to BLE mini? if not
I was just wondering if there is a hardware bluetooth 4.0 module that I can attach to my ipod and upgrade it hardware wise to Bluetooth 4.0?
Thanks a lot

Bluetooth 4 Low Energy mode is hardware, so no.

No. You would need a Bluetooth module (for the device you want to "connect to) that supports SPP, the serial port profile. The point of the jailbreak would be to add SPP support, since iOS does not include it.

Extremely doubtful.
