I am working on a timer project. After the design, code, and layout are completed, I need to produce 50 of these units. Is anybody aware of a company that would take my design, produce the circuit board, program the chips, and assemble the units? I do not want to produce all 50 units by myself. Thanks.
50 units? Do you have any idea how much that would cost, if the company didn't laugh in your face? You might be able to get a call back from a company if you said "1000 units" - maybe.
I'm sure there's some "small run" company out there, but I doubt it will be cheap - I would love to be proved wrong, though (small runs can be useful)...
Good luck. I would suggest looking at Chinese manufacturers, though, if you want to have any hope of keeping the costs low enough...
Yeah... That's what I was afraid of. I can only spend $50 per unit as well. I don't think there are any companies out there that would do that. Looks like I may have to make them all myself...
Well depending on the complexity of the design, you might find that there would be some contacts here on the forum that could help.
For 50 units you will struggle though.
Let's talk...we may be able to keep the cost to less than $50/board: e-mail email@example.com

Isn't this the reason why they turned off sigs in the first place?
Have you coded something to do it automatically or are you copying it in each time?
I'm in a simlar situation. The weirdest thing is that the most costly part of my design, is the pair of acrylic top and bottom covers. Can't get the price down. I did the covers at an online place that cost me USD$20+. Unless your design is naked, you'll possibly struggle with enclosures like I do.
I tried 3D printing (didn't go for it, too expensive and too rough-looking). Pre-manufactured boxes don't work. I need to cut LCD windows, I/O and power plug ports and button holes. Don't have a workshop setup for that. I don't think anyone even in China will make a plastic mold for me just for 10 boxes. They will say [ch26377][ch27809][ch26377][ch25630][ch38169][ch21834][ch65281]
So do you need enclosures at all?

Well I could do something for you now if you have not got anything sorted yet. ;)
