Title: Problem with bracket and brace color in 'theme.txt' file
Post by: GlassReef on Mar 06, 2016, 10:28 am
Hello, all.

I've had to change the editor colors of the IDE because of eye problems - a dark theme is the solution for me. I'm almost there but, I cannot get the display color of brackets and braces to change - they always remain black and are almost invisible against the dark background. I have changed the 'operator' color in theme.txt to a light color and all operators reflect the new color when the IDE is started - EXCEPT brackets and braces. They remain black!

This is driving me crazy as I've spent hours trying to solve the problem, to no avail. I would appreciate someone pointing me in the right direction.

I'm using the latest version of the IDE.

Thank you

I just installed version 1.6.8 and had the same problem. I found a way to solve it on this version.
Look in the folder where your edited theme file is. You will see a subfolder called "syntax".
Go in there and you will see two XML files, "dark.xml" and "default.xml".
Rename "default.xml" as something else, then make a copy of dark.xml and rename it as "default.xml".
Now start the Arduino editor and hopefully your problem will be solved.
