Title: Is Yun Shield retired?
Post by: yvanvds on Jun 14, 2016, 07:41 pm
I ordered a Yun shield last month for testing. If everything goes like planned, I would need more. But now it has been removed from the Genuino product page. Is this temporary? If not, will there be a replacement with comparable specs?

Regards,

yvan

Update: I see that the Arduino page lists a Wifi shield 101 now. Will this be on the genuino page soon?

I emailed the US store with this question earlier this month. Seems the Yun Shield was more successful than anticipated and they sold out. There was no date noted when new stock would be available.

Incredibily, Yún shield seems to have returned from the graves...now appears here!: https://www.arduino.cc/en/Main/GenuinoProducts

Well, I've asked to support@arduino.cc when Yún Shield would be available and I've got this answer:

Dear Customer,
Thank you for your letter
Unfortunately this product is not available  and we don't have ETA.
Thank you for your patience and understanding.
Best regards,
Gyuri
Genuino Team

I've just answered saying why it is showed in Genuino Products page, then.
I'm waiting response.

I found the NUY shield at http://shop.8devices.com/index.php?route=common/home. This appear to be a replacement for the Arduino Yun Shield. I have ordered one and will let you know when I have time to play with it in a month or so. I found this on an other post in this YUN Shield forum.

Another alternative is this:

Yes the Dragino works really well, but I wanted some thing that would work with a Due, but I find the Due too finicky to program so I ordered 2 Zeros as they also have 12 ADC. If I could install the Zero on Dragino I would be happy.

Woops I'm meant the Zero has 6 - 12 Bit ADC.

Yup, Yup, Yup. Ordered one Monday, got it today. Wow! less than a week to get a product from Europe to Canada.
