I am looking to build a device that will let me test the temperature of products inside a fridge and freezer.
Can anyone recommend good temperature sensors for this? I know I can buy an infrared thermometer and save the hassle but this will be the start function of a multi tool proof of concept I am desining , the sensor needs to be accurate, +/- 1 degree Celsius. It also has to be able to deal with liquid if it's a touch based sensor.

You plan to actually stick probes into those products? An IR sensor would read only the surface temperature of a product, which may be quite different from the bulk of the product.
Anyway, the easiest is to use wired sensors, and just lead the wires through a hole in the door or the side of the fridge.
Why make a hole in the fridge? The wires can be thin enough that the door seal will close adequately.

That is how my freezer monitor is done. 3 conductor, 28 AWG flat cable causes no significant leakage.

Will the sensor be coming in contact with food?
If so you will need food grade sensors, specifically designed for the food industry.
I think you will find some health regs about it.
