Title: upload ATMEGA 8 boot loader problem
Post by: renga65 on Mar 18, 2018, 04:58 am
I tried to upload ATMEGA 8 boot loader to the chip using Arduino UNO with Arduino Software version 1.0.6, after uninstalling the latest version 1.8.5. I am using Windows 10 OS.  But, I got the following message :

"This report would have more information with
  "Show verbose output during compilation"
  enabled in File > Preferences.
Arduino: 1.0.6 (Windows NT (unknown)), Board: "Arduino NG or older w/ ATmega8"
avrdude: stk500_program_enable(): protocol error, expect=0x14, resp=0x50
avrdude: initialization failed, rc=-1
         Double check connections and try again, or use -F to override
         this check.

avrdude: stk500_disable(): protocol error, expect=0x14, resp=0x51 "

Can anybody solve the problem and tell what to do.
