Title: Orange led blinking
Post by: ecabanas on Jul 16, 2018, 12:22 pm
Hi,

I have a sketch that put the Mkr gsm in sleep mode to save battery. Every 15 minutes does the reading routine, sends the info and sleep again.

I don't know why, but after several cycles, the led orange starts to blink and I don't know why? and all seams everything is ok...

Any idea why?

Thank's

Isn't the orange LED the battery charging indicator?

There are instances where the charge light will BLINK with or without a battery connected.
The time to worry is if the blinking becomes a constant rapid flashing and the board no longer responds at all.

Hello ballscrewbob,

Is there anything to do if board's CHRG is rapid flashing and no longer responds?

Any ideas of what may have caused this?  Don't want to do it again.

Thank you

@jholman10

Sometimes it could just be an errant sketch.
Very hard to tell without much information.

Using the "double tap reset" wont really harm the board but may on occasion be a heads up to check your code.

my technician friend says this is likely to be related to your battery power dropping and the board struggles to draw enough power. I am trying to log the power usage to confirm this.
