Title: MP3 TF 16 (DFPlayer) sound clicking issue
Post by: teckk9 on May 01, 2019, 05:15 am
Hello everyone, when I power my MP3 TF 16 on a battery power it seems to start up and instead of playing the audio it just clicks the whole time. The odd thing is when I plug in the USB power it plays the song just fine. I grounded the MP3 module, do I need a amplifier for this? Here's the video of the issue:

Not too sure what the issue is when it is connected to the battery source ( 4 AA) into the Arduino Uno power.

Four AA batteries will give you 6V, this is not enough to feed into the power jack or the Vin pin of an Arduino because the power supply regulator needs about a minimum of 7V to regulate down to 5V..

How is the rest powered?
Have you measured the voltage on the batteries' output when in use?

I have found using 3 AA batteries into the 5V pin a much better way of powering an Arduino.

Might even try a 2 cell, rechargeable LiPo battery
