RGB EL Panel and transparent capacitive paint

I am looking to make capacitive panels that change color when you touch them.
Does anyone know of a material that illuminates in multiple colors as well as a capacitive translucent paint or material?

I found a material called "Indium Tin Oxide Glass" on aliExpress which is transparent, does anyone have knowledge of working with this? would it be possible to sand blast one side to make it "milky" (or use a translucent plastic backing) and wrap an LED light strip around the borders, to get the "glowing" effect that EL panels offer?

What type of Translucent plastic would work to get the most even lighting from an LED strip?

Can I use aluminum tape as a backing for the capacitive function? what is the maximum depth that this would work for? Is there some sort of formula for this?

Thanks in advance.

ITO is used on capacitive touch panels to print the electrodes.
As far as I know, it has no significant electroluminescent properties.
