Title: Is it possible to copy settings from computer to another
Post by: OhSnap on Sep 18, 2019, 07:28 am
Hello I have recently updated my HDD to a SSD and have reinstalled all programs but obviously the settings in Arduino to run my LED light wont work. Does anyone know if I can just copy a setting file to the new HDD and have it work? cheers

It's not obvious to me that it will not work. What is not working?

No communication?
Can't compile?

It's on COM3 I have never used Ardunio before which is mainly the problem haha. So i guess I just need to know what file to copy over in order to get it to work.

You did not answer the questions what the issue us.

Because you mention COM3, I assume it's a communication problem and that you're using Windows.

What does Windows device manager say when you connect the Arduino? The new port that shows in the device manager after connecting will be the port that you need to select in the IDE.

If no new port shows but an unknown device, you will need to install the driver, probably CH340; do a search for CH341SER.zip on the forum.
