Beware of cheap AliExpress IRLZ34N mosfets

Hi, I have bought 50 IRLZ34N mosfets (for USD 8.51) on Ali Express, for use with a 3.3V Arduino project.
The IRLZ34N is supposed to open at 2.0V, according to the datasheet.
However, the ones that I bought start to open around 3.5V or more.
The have IRLZ34N printed on them!
I have now bought new ones (from Digikey), and these meet the specs and work fine.
Just wanted to warn you. It did cost me a lot of work because I had soldered 14 of those on a tight experimental board.

How can you be sure it is ALL of Aliexpress ?
I have had lots of very good purchases of components from them !

Well, you cannot be sure. I have had lots of good AliExpress purchases too. These mosfets did work, but they were out of spec. I bought from a supplier with good reviews.
This is a mosfet that is typically used for Arduino projects. So, I am just sharing my experience.

Then why do you insist it was Aliexpress and not just a single supplier ?

Did you take the issue up with Aliexpress and the seller ?

On the one hand I want to try to order vom Aliexpress, but I am not sure if the things are good enough.
So would you recommend it? Or is most of the stuff bad quality?

I have had a LOT of success via Aliexpress.

During the initial covid crisis some things wen missing and I also had a great experience getting refunds and much more so than Ebay etc.

They are my GOTO unless I want something in an extreme rush.

Like any online sales platform it can take a little getting used to but I love the fact that almost all items have a FULL description of the item unlike Ebay or Amazon etc.

They sell much the same items as other online sellers but usually at much cheaper prices so quality is often the same.
For higher priced goods you have to be selective about shipping costs but even there you often get a choice of how things are shipped.

Vgs threshold is given for Id = 250µA not for 1A !

For use with Vdd= 3.3V IRLZ34N is not suitable, you must choise Vgs threshold near to 1V
One exemple AO3400
Vgh th 0.7 <= 1.1 <= 1.4 V

Be careful the thickness of the grid is lower, these models are more fragile.
