Post by: maksostrong on Mar 12, 2019, 08:53 pm
Hi, hope you guys can help me. Currently, I am doing a project which about a tracking system using MFRC531 and Arduino. I have followed the connection stated in the datasheet. Then I tried to use the mfrc522 library to work on MFRC531, but in my serial monitor, it shows warning as below.

Firmware version : 0x0 = (unknown)
WARNING: Commnuication failure, is the MFRC522 properly connected?
Scan PICC to see UID, SAK, type, and data blocks.....

MFRC522 is not a MFRC531. So no wonder it won't work.

Use the right library. If one doesn't exist, write one.
