Hi there folks,

Apologies if this has been raised before but cannot locate the answer so thought I would ask.

I have purchased a DuinoTech Nano Version 3 with the Mega 328 Chipset and while it seems to work fine, I cannot get it to talk to the Arduino 1.6.8 Software or even my PC.

I have a Mega board by the same manufacture which is working fine.

I have tried to update the driver in my device manager and it is not working. I am getting the following error:

avrdude: ser_open(): can't open device "\\.\COM3": The system cannot find the file specified.

I have searched and all hints related to Windows 7 or XP and MAC or Lunix...

Any helpful hints will be greatly appreciated.

That error indicates that you have selected COM3 from the tools -> port menu previously, but there is currently no COM3 device connected. Different devices, or the same device plugged into different ports, will get a different COM number.

If there are no devices tools -> port menu (or no entries corresponding to the nano), you have a driver problem, check device manager.
