what do you do when someone asks for help
you get in touch and agree the project
agree a price
deliver the goods
gently remind that payment is due
remind that payment is getting very late
then it all goes deathly quiet
and the original post disappears
is there any way for the Mods to trace a user? (he still has an account here)
I won't name names, but clearly if a Mod needs more info ...

Just to set your expectations: "tracing" is unlikely to uncover any more information than you already have.

I try to only provide test results until payment is received the first time working with someone, having had the same thing happen a time or two (the delayed payment part - have only been partially stiffed a couple times, never totally blown off tho).

An other way is making agreements with milestones. It also makes it easier to estimate times and costs
