I'm just curious, why was the ISP header for the ATmega 16U2 removed in the newish Arduino Uno?

Not sure what you mean, it's still there on the Arduino Uno R3.

Oh you mean the physical header itself? The holes are still there though. I'm guessing they figured almost no one uses it so it's a waste of money to put the header there.

OK, but there is one use that I actually use.  When I am using the Yun Shield with my Uno, I have to connect 2 pins together on the 16U2 header, but I guess I could still do it without them.
