Wondering if it is possible without an ESC.
Only speed, not direction. Unless you use a relay to switch wires to the motor.

Most shields with similar names use very old technology and work only with very small motors.

A brushed motor is the simplest, standard motor.
A simple MOSFET (one direction) or H-bridge (reversible) on a PWM output is all you need.

The magic starts with steppers and brushLESS motors.
Experienced responders have a nose for laziness, (they were beginners once)... Sure, there are trolls, chest-beaters, and pretenders - but the help you'll get here is about as good as it gets - if you try to help youself!.

I am also searching a wasy to use this kind of brushed Motor:
Absima Elektro Motor Thrust eco
i bought also a nimh powerpack with 7.2V and a esc 30A.
But i dont get it to work!
