I recently received my motor carrier and it appears to work fine. I updated the firmware. However, when I run the Motor example (M1.setDuty(N)) the motor doesn't do anything. In fact, I don't see any voltage heading to the M1 pins. Also the LED that I think is next to the port doesn't appear to do anything either.

The board switch is on, but it doesn't seem to work.

Any troubleshooting ideas?

Thanks!

I'm having issues with my encoder/motor as well. If you don't mind, where did you find the Motor example? Is the motor carrier attached to the MKR1000? Maybe reset MKR1000 via clicking blue button twice and program/upload libraries, if you haven't already?

Okay, so the issue is that the 5V input from the MKR board is not connected to the Motor Carrier. What you need to do is purchase a separate 9v power supply and connect it to the board.

I bought a pigtail from Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00QJAW9F4/ref=cm_sw_em_r_mt_dp_U_sKEvCb34Z9R6C

And looking at the Eagle diagram, through a bit of trial and error, I plugged it into the PWRIN port and the GND port.
