It is a driver board for old FlipDot displays The small SMD pads are a H-bridge used for small DC motors; two digital output pins from the arduino thus make a dot flip (and flop). Simple.

You can build a Polargraph with 2 motors.  Pretty easy build and very interesting (to me anyway).  Plus free firmware and software.

You can build a Polargraph with 2 motors.  Pretty easy build and very interesting (to me anyway).  Plus free firmware and software.
Polagraph is cool - I'm also thinking about mirrors that turn.
