Hi!

Sorry for ask this as my fisrt post...

But i Want to know if someone here actually sell Reader/Writer for SFC for use with sanni Software

:D

Thanks
What do you mean by SFC?

wildBcat

I have done a lot of troubleshooting and testing. I am not sure, but I think I have the PIC12f629 set up in the SOIC 8 adapter correctly and plugged into the universal harness correctly. According to my research, the universal pins are set correctly too. I could never figure out how to get the WxPic software to recognize the PicKit3, but the PicKit3 programmer seemed to. I loaded the hex file and wrote to it. It says it was successful, and verification passes. Can someone look at the pictures and see if I have done this correctly?

sanni

is there no way to get the file saved in windows? Could I use putty somehow?
The files are always saved to the SD card. A transfer function to a PC was not written yet.
You can use putty as an alternative to the Arduino Serial Monitor to control the Cart Reader but the files are still saved and read from the SD card.

Sometimes people have leftover parts from their built so you could get lucky. If not just try building it yourself, it's a fun beginner's project. :)
You can leave off any slots that you don't need to make it easier to assemble.

What do you mean by SFC?
SFC stands for Super Famicom, it's the Japanese name for the Super Nintendo.

Yes that looks perfect. I have linked your pictures in the Wiki so that people can follow your footsteps in the future.  :)

Hello Sanni,
just completed the build of the latest cartreader, just wondering which components you desolder from the robodyn arduino on the wiki it only shows the offical one.

Maybe you are right :)
But I'm more a Software guy, anyway soldering works for me
Still, my knoledge about eletronics is quite low...
For example I dont know if the 1st post dia schematics is optimal at this day, or there is a new one versión.

The part list:
i check eBay and see some parts, but don't know what I really need
5V/16MHz or 3.3V/8MHz  ATMEGA328P
with or without headers
The Edge Connector
this one? or which one is better? 62-70-72 pin

The 74HC595... this one?

still i know, I'm missing more parts(really basic)
zero knowledge about it
:(

That's way I ask for one already built like yours *o*

Thanks!

Unless you want to build MichlK's original reader and ignore the 6 years of development since then your starting point is here: https://github.com/sanni/cartreader/wiki/Needed-Parts  :D

Components should look the same on all versions:

Thank you for confirming! I will work on some detailed instructions on what I did to get it to work, and I might even make a video on it, in case anyone else needs help. It took me hours to figure it out, but I am glad I was able to get it done!

Here is a list of the needed parts:
https://github.com/sanni/cartreader/wiki/Needed-Parts

If I am successful on making mine, I may use the other four PCBs I have and build some to sell.

I just watch and read about everything
The way yo do(at video) looks very easy, maybe I can repeat al steps, however still have a lot of questions
Thanks for taking the time(i didn't see the GB/GBC Slot at video)

If you make it soon just tell me, if i try to do the cart reader, will be next month, meanwhile i'll try to learn the basics of soldering

Thanks!

What are you looking for kofdasad?

A compleet and ready reader or one you still have to do some soldering on ?

I have a couple of boards somewhere only needs the screen I think.

Hi Nextria!
I need an already complete reader...

Just because my knowledge about electronic(parts and everything else) is almost null, i can soldering and fix basic stuff, bot this one is hard forme, maybe I can do it, but still, a lot of questions

Nextria

I will try check tomorrow where my spare one is. I will let you know.

But we i are in the middle of moving :)
So I have like 70 boxes

Question. Will the cart reader work without the PIC microcontroller? I am away from home and finishing up the cart reader, and realized I forgot to bring that piece with me. I was wondering if I can still set it all up and rip a Sega Rom without it. Any thoughts on that?
