12v relay but max voltage is 8.4vKinda like saying... here's a pint glass but we will only fill it 3/4ths of the capacity?!
Coil resistance is 400 ohms, and I tried to switch it using a 9v battery still no luck.Quote12v relay but max voltage is 8.4vKinda like saying... here's a pint glass but we will only fill it 3/4ths of the capacity?!The 8.4v is for the the coil, you can run 12v through the pole.

Hi I'm having a small relay issue. I just got this power relay (http://www.digikey.com/product-search/en?x=-1307&y=-73&lang=en&site=us&KeyWords=orwh-sh-112d) and I can't figure out why it won't switch from NC to NO. I run 5VDc through the coil (1.2VDc min and 8.4VDc max on the datasheet), but the relay seems to always be stuck in NC. I'm using it to connect the ground end of a 12v power supply. Is the relay just broken or is there something I'm missing?
