Hi, Guys:

This is Eric, I'm a fans of Arduino from China.

I've created a tiny studio in focus of interaction engineering, in hope of creating a business of hobby. Here is the link: www.seeedstudio.com .

Suggestions are sincerely welcomed~ ;)

Thanks,

Eric

(I'm not sure if it is OK to discuss business in the forum, apologize if I overlooked the rule.)

Eric,

Trying to find a Graphic KS0108 LCD 128x64 with LED Backlight.
Need one with black pixels and gray background or white pixels and black background.
Anything you can source?
Thanks,

seratechi

Sure, I have some Blue backlight ones like this: http://www.seeedstudio.com/depot/graphic-lcd-128x64-stn-led-backlight-p-92.html

How many do you need for B/W ones? I'll put some online after 6th, it's national holiday now.

Thanks

HULK

Eric,

So the same LCD model:LEDSTN12864 from your site is available in Black with white pixels?
Well, only need a sample at first so one to start with in black and white. Could order a blue and white one at the same time.
Did you have any with gray(neutral) background and black pixels?
And what about prices?

seratechi

I need to check the price for B/W or gray/Black ones, the supplier is not working these days. I'll keep you posted whenever quote is ready.

Also, please let me know you have preference for size. Appreciated ;)

HULK

No problem, i know that the amount of holiday days in China are very limitid so enjoy  :).
If you can source LCD´s in the same size as the one you have on your site that would be perfect.
But not bigger then 100 x 95 x 16mm.

seratechi

Hulk- Excuse us for keep you waiting so long. ;)

We have sourced some KS0108 compatible LCD in stock now. You may check them out in our LCD section: http://www.seeedstudio.com/depot/parts-lcd-c-32_8.html

From our current supplier, we haven't got 12864 ones in Gray/Black or B/W with KS0108 controller. If you could wait for about one week, we could source one and validate its quality, but the price would be a little higer since we might not want to buy in bulks.

Maybe you want to try 192*64 ones instead? They are awesome too and with in your dimension.

HULK

Eric,

Thanks for your feedback, quality seems to be very good.
I could wait for a week, but i would like to know what the price difference is approximately?
192*64 are nice but to big for my application, sorry.

Check this out:

HULK

Eric,

Just to comfirm, dark gray pixels and neutral white backlight, right?
Really nice of you to go this far for me, i will put an order right now.

:)

I notice that Eric has a link on his site to the Arduino playground library. Let me know when you have it hooked up and working and I will add it to the list of compatible panels.

HULK

Mem,

As soon as i have it in my post box and i have tested the module with your library i will give you my feedback Mem. If not anybody else will beat me to it.

mem

Eric, I just noticed you have a 192x64 display on your site noted as compatible with the PlaygroundGLCD library http://www.seeedstudio.com/depot/graphic-lcd-19264-ks0108-ctrl-black-and-white-p-143.html

I am a little surprised it works. The library code was written assuming two controller chips each up to 64 pixels wide. Does the panel have two controllers each 96 bits wide or three controllers?

Has it been tested with the library?

If it doesn't work, send me a Personal Message and I will see if I can help with some mods to the library to get it going.

seratechi

Hulk -  Let us test the one with probe pins tommorow for all your questions :)

mem - We have tested the 12864 ones in hand with the library and they worked fine. The 19264 ones has difference in pin15 and pin16 used for CS, http://www.topwaydisplay.com/Pub/Manual/LM19264ABY-Manual-Rev0.1.pdf. It would be grateful if you could mod the library to handle the 00 state. Anyway, we should be cautious in stating the compatibility, excuse us for that.   :-[

The 192x64 pixel panel has three controller chips, the 128x64 panels has two.
Supporting more than two controller chips gets a little complicated. With just two controllers, the code just toggles between one and the other whenever the 64 bit boundary is crossed. With three or more chips, all the other chips need to be disabled. I think this is best done by adding a new method for controller chip selection. The method itself is not complicated (it would deselect all chips and select the chip with the x address modulo  64). But modifying the code to call this method in all the places needed requires some care.  Feel free to produce a suitable version of the code if you want to ( I will be happy to give you advice) , but until code has been modified and tested, it would not be accurate to describe the 192 pixel panel as compatible so would respectfully ask you to modify that statement on the product pages with the 192 pixel panels

Let me know if I can be of help
