Topic: Arduino Yun Linino side dead (Read 26912 times) previous topic - next topic

I have read several threads on arduino dead yun "Bricked" or similar, I have followed the methods but not work.

My arduino yun does not work (Linino side), I load the sketch YunSerialTerminal (line adjustment: new line, 115200), but pressing YUN RST, the serial monitor shows nothing.

YUN RST pressed for 3 seconds, nothing

YUN RST for 30 seconds, nothing

Only upload some sketches, I install nodejs, Python. after that did not work ever, never connect loads to digital pins, feed the usb cable.

these methods do not work:

http://playground.arduino.cc/Hardware/Yun # restoring_a_yun

http://forum.arduino.cc/index.php?PHPSESSID=c3qnmdatrtke43ci90loekuf70&topic=227127.0

Summary not reflash, no failsafe mode ....

Only use it 5 times Dx

NOTE: I've never managed to see the boot on the serial monitor ..

Is the arduino yun directly connected with the PC? (without any USB Hub)

Arduino Yun -> Cable Micro USB / USB (Galaxy S3) -> Notebook (Windows 8.1)

Hi,

Just a thought.

At anytime have you powered the Yun off anything other than a regulated 5 Volt supply?

The Yun is picky about it power sources.

Please try this:

   1. Load the "YunSerialTerminal" sketch without any adjustments / changes
   2. Close the arduino software
   3. Connect to arduino COM Port with PUTTY (http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/putty/)
      Putty Settings:
         Connection type: "Serial"
Serial line: **arduino yun COM port**
         Speed: 9600
   4. Connect to arduino ("Open" button)

After connecting you should see a black window with an blinking cursor on it.
Now you can try to send a command - for example: ls

   Can you see any output?

I can see the black window but the cursor not blink.
Arduino Yun (COM 1), 9600
but arduino unresponsive.

failed to understand how my arduino yun died, I've always fed with micro usb cable, all you did was install nodejs and all good, the last thing you install some modules were nodejs. then do not use it for 3 days and when I did .... died?

if I could see the console linino might think, but I've never been able to see anything on serial arduino monitor, or putty.

=( =( =( =( =( =( =( =( =( =( =( =( =(

anyone can help me?

there any solution?
maybe delete some directory from putty when still worked ...

can be loaded directly from usb linino?

Have you uploaded YunSerialTerminal example?
Does the usb led light up with a bright white after 2 minutes or so, does it immediately light up with a weak white or does it stay off?

I'm also experiencing the same problem as described in this post. I have loaded the YunSerialTerminal sketch. The 32u4 works according to sketch. This means that I can see a printout in the putty console as a response to the "~0" command for example. When I press the yun rst button next to the leds I can see the usb led light when the button is pressed. But after button release nothing happens.  There are no printouts in the console.

Please help me solve my problem.

federicofissore

Can you paste the printouts you see?

I don't have the device with me at the moment. But I only see response to the "~0" commands. For example "Speed set to 57600". Nothing is printed when I press and release the "YUN  RST" button.
