I played a bit with the mapping of the analyzed bands:

Realtime calculated fractal Perlin/Simplex noise controlled by audio spectral analysis data...
...at 1:13 the video quality gets better...

Just fractal noise scrolling through with high contrast i.e. sharpened outlines.

Today I learned that less is more when using the fractal noise. So instead of manipulating as much parameters as possible I was focussed on creating repeatable visual effects - the same sound creates exactly the same animation again and again.
To me it appears way more hypnotic that way. You really see the music now!

The spectrum analyzer window is just my debugging helper to see what is going on with the incoming data. Way more convenient than starring at the serial monitor.

P.S. I filmed it alreday with 60 fps but it is still not enough... live it looks more punchy.?

A constrained noise space as a mask:

And a decent 3 layer plasma while maintaining contrast and saturation. I love the movement of the morphing shapes within.

Is anybody here who has seen that mapping before? Somewhen somewhere?  ;)
