Arduino is Italian? Why not shipping and product discounts for Italians?

Hi!
Finally an Italian technology product... but why we have the same shipping costs as International users?
Can we have finally some cheap technology for us?
I would like to see more discounts for Italian people, maybe free shipping... I think it will help Italian people to experiment with technology!

What about Ferrari? Is that not an Italian technology product? Do you get discounts on Ferrari's in Italy because you're Italian?

Are the Arduino's actually shipped from Italy to end consumers?
Maybe they are sent from somewhere more centrally located.
Maybe it's just a mistake on the website.
I know I have lost some foreign sales because international tracked/insured shipping is so much more than domestic US.
