Soon as my supplier gets stock, I'll be chronicling the build of this arm, here.

Meantime, I'm adding some simple Arduino / servo stuff to help folk get started if they don't know anything about Arduino but want to build the arm.

Always  8) , although re-drawn in Express from Eagle to match any others I might create along the way.

Well thanks to the generosity of MicroRobotics my local supplier just outside Pretoria, I now have a meArm to build, so keep an eye on my blog. It has a "subscribe" thingy if you want to register for email notifications.

I recently bought a 3D printer, one of the first things I printed on it was a mearm.

Here is mine:

And blog tells the story of the hardware build which we finished today.

All in all, dead simple, and I'd recommend this arm to anyone who needs a simple product to explore the subject.

@Bajdi: what did you use for powering the servos, and what's that board on the left?

The board on the left is one of my own creations. It's a PCB with an ATmega328 and an LM2576/2596 5V 3A switch mode regulator. The regulator has no problem to supply enough current to the servos.
