Topic: Stepper motor is not microstepping  (Read 643 times) previous topic - next topic


I am using an arduino UNO, big easy driver and a NEMA 17 bipolar stepper motor. I am trying to do micro stepping. Full step works fine, every pulse I send moves the motor a full step. When I set the driver to micro stepping, say sixteenth steps, every 16 pulses it will turn a full step... so essentially, it's just like full stepping, but instead it takes sixteen pulses to move it.... shouldn't it move a sixteenth of a step, each pulse I send. Can anyone please explain what might be happening here. btw, I am providing enough power.

Then you could be doing something else wrong, except that we have no reason to believe the quoted statement.

If you want help, post the code, using code tags, a wiring diagram and provide the electrical specifications for the motor and the power supply.
