Hey folks!

I have a problem with the L298N motor driver board (or the stepper motor). I wired everything up like this:



Attached to the board is one 4-wire stepper motor (Nema17, 1.7A), external power supply (6V)

IN1, IN2, IN3, IN4 are connected to D8, D9, D10, D11

I loaded the stepper_oneRevolution example for stepper motors from the Arduino IDE.

Problem: The motor is just stuttering but not rotating.
Solution: HELP! :o

Does anyone has a solution for this problem? :(

P.S.: two 2-wire DC motors worked on both port-sides. So the board should work correctly

Yes, as has been explained many, many times on this forum, the L298 driver won't work with that high current motor and the power supply voltage is too low (about 4 volts are consumed in the driver itself).

The Pololu DRV8825 will work, but be sure to use a proper power supply (at least 12V) and carefully follow Pololu's directions to set the current limit to no more than 1.5 amperes.
