I'm realizing I just really need someone to write the program for me so I can finish the fabrication of the prop.
I know my strengths and programming isn't one of them so I am going to post my need for a programmer in gigs and collaborations.

I would not advise using a breadboard though - you might be stuck and we would never see you again ...

Current may still be an issue, as the digital pins only supply 40ma. So to power your display, I would recommend you use transistors and a good 5 volt power supply.
