beginners often incorrectly interpret this as an error and feel obligated to attempt reflash. imo this often causes more problems than it solves.
popular belief that these are incapable of programming new chips in my experience has proven unfounded.

used to be many years ago on the old forum just posting a link was clickable. now they look like inline text. id greatly appreciate if anybody can tell tell me how to properly "link-ify".
as mentioned in the other thread it would be foolish for them to release proprietary firmware to public domain.
i periodically dumped many dozens of these over the years and have yet to see valid code.
@pert: are you sure the target was properly powered? I got those images also when the target was not correctly powered.
